Global Peak Challenge

The Global Peak Challenge is the final competition of the International Hope Cup Mathematics Invitational, which is a team-based event. The most outstanding students from around the world join forces to compete. We aim not only to recognize students' efforts in mathematics, but also to encourage teamwork and collaboration among them.

The Global Peak Challenge 2023 will be held in Macau from August 15 to August 17. This year's event is organized by the Asia International Mathematical Research Association.
Teams are formed according to grade or age, with six members per team. Younger students may participate in higher-level competitions, but older students are not allowed to participate in lower-level competitions. The following are the grouping requirements. IHC4 (grades 3-4 or U10) IHC6 (grades 5-6 or U12) IHC8 (grades 7-8 or U14) IHC10 (grades 9-10 or U16)
The Global Peak Challenge consists of three rounds: Individual Thinking, Team Speed, Team Thinking.
(1) Individual Thinking Round 10 questions, 10 points each, a total of 100 points. Time limit: 30 minutes. Discussion is not allowed. Each contestant answers the questions independantly and submits an answer sheet.
(2) Team Speed Rounds 12 questions, divided into two rounds, 6 questions per round, 10 points each, a total of 120 points Time limit: 10 minutes per round, 20 minutes in total for 2 rounds. Discussion is allowed. Each team answers the questions together and submits one answer sheet.
(3) Team Thinking Round 10 questions, 10 points each, a total of 100 points. Time limit: 45 minutes. Discussion is allowed. Each team answers the questions together and submits one answer sheet
Individual awards are based on each contestant’s score of the Individual Thinking Round, and prizes are awarded separately for different groups. Team awards are based on the total score of the team, and prizes are awarded separately for different groups.
Team total score = average score of Individual Thinking Round + score of Team Speed Round + score of Team Thinking Round
Individual Awards
20% of the contestants will receive Gold Individual Awards, with medals and certificates. 30% of the contestants will receive Silver Individual Awards, with medals and certificates. 40% of the contestants will receive Bronze Individual Awards, with medals and certificates. All contestants will receive a participating certificates.
Team Awards
Each level will have a first place team, second place team, and third place team, with each team member receiving a trophy and certicicate. In addition, 30% of teams will receive a Gold Team Award, and 70% of teams will receive a Silver Team Award, along with the corresponding medals and certificates.
